Qué es un diente afectado?
Aunque la mayoría de las personas desarrolla y crecer 32 dientes permanentes adultos, muchas veces sus mandíbulas son demasiado pequeñas para acomodar las cuatro muelas del juicio. Cuando la falta de espacio impide que los dientes en erupción se llaman impactados. Esto indica su incapacidad para estallar en la posición correcta para la masticación y la limpieza.

Tipos de retenciones
Tendremos que ver para una consulta determinar si usted se beneficiará de extracción de muela del juicio. Una radiografía especial de la boca y las mandíbulas (Panorex) se tomarán para determinar si los dientes de la sabiduría se ven afectados, Si hay lugar para ellos en erupción, y cuán difícil será para remover.

- Impactación ósea completa: Hay ningún espacio para el diente en erupción. Permanece incrustado en el hueso de la mandíbula o si aún parcialmente visible requiere complejas técnicas quirúrgicas para la eliminación. La muela del juicio impactada también puede estar en una posición inusual y difícil de quitar. Esta situación también puede presentarse cuando la forma o el tamaño del hueso de la mandíbula y otras estructuras faciales hacen extracción de este diente significativamente más complejo.
